Noa Izumi is a country girl with an uncanny affinity for vehicles. She has grown quite attached to her labor and has even given it a name. "Alphonse" as she calls it, was also the name of a dog that she had while growing up as a child. She is the most energetic of the bunch, but you better stay out of her way when she gets pissed!
Kanuka Clancy is the only american in the group and hails from the city of New York. She joins the SV2 on a one year study period so at a point in the series she actually leaves and makes several guest apperances in later episodes. She has been branded as a "Super Cop" and is highly intellegent but stubborn as well.
Takeo Kumagami was hired to be Kanuka's replacement for when she left. The two invariably met and from then on they never liked each other. Everthing that they do together ends up being a competition, which is really fun to watch because they are alike in many ways. The main difference comes from Kumagami's more text book approach to police work.
Asuma Shinohara is the son of the head of Shinohara Heavy Industries (they make labors). He likes to pick on Noa which is a habit that has gotten him into trouble more times than not. He is a good leader though he will never admit that he is. Also a bit egotistical he is good at devising plans.
Kiichi Goto is the captain of SV2 and is extremely intellegent. He was in fact more intellegent than most of his superiors in the city, which is why he belives he has been "exiled" to the reclaimed land. He may come off as being rather passive, but make no doubt that he is actually very good at what he does. Other than that he spends most of his time making passes at Captain Nagumo of the first unit.
Shinobu Nagumo is Goto's co-worker as the captain of the first unit. She is the veteran, and was not too pleased when the brass decided to give the new labors to the new second unit instead of her unit of veterans. During most of the series she is seen sitting around in the office while Goto tries to make small talk with her. In fact during the series the two of them share several awkward moments but nothing ever happens.
Isao Ohta is the definition of the text book officer when not in his labor. When you first are introduced to him he acts as if he was in the army, however as time passes he reveals himself to be the trigger happy maniac that he is. He makes a great catalyst for the storyline and makes for some great comedy interlude.
Mikiyasu Shinshi is the only member of the unit that is married. Coming from a long line of office workers, he opted to join the police force instead, his relatives later marking him as the oddball of the family. His wife is a lively woman who is very moody. Normally a pretty outspoken man who always seems to be able to answer any question, his mood noticably changes when he is around his wife whom he loves dearly.
Hiromi Yamazaki is very large and very well built. He towers over the other members but he is suprisingly sensitive. He also is not very good at holding his liquor but is quite good at tending to his chickens and tomato garden.
